“Ejuke said he was eager to return to CSKA, although his sly look betrayed a catch” – Fedotov

CSKA head coach Vladimir Fedotov told the “Championship” about a conversation with Chidera Ejuke, who took advantage of the FIFA option and decided to leave the club.

“When I called Ejuka’s departure an outrage, I just called a spade a spade. Before arriving at the training camp, we talked with him and Sigurdsson on the phone. We gave the guys extra time to rest, because they were leaving for the national teams.

The disgrace is that it is not necessary to promise anything, so as not to have a pale appearance later. It is very important for me. You have to be responsible for your words. But they safely took advantage of FIFA’s decision. At the same time, there is an example of Biyola: this is an example of decency and good relations. In CSKA, he matured, became a player, to which he reciprocated. And for this he will be fully returned on the positive side. This is how it works in real life.

We communicated with Ejuke via video: he said that he was ready to work and was eager to return. Although his sly look during that conversation betrayed a catch. My experience was enough to feel it. After that, he returned to Moscow, spent time at the training camp and left. We talked to him because I was interested in his motive, but Ejuke couldn’t even look me in the eyes. I told him: “You understand that there are very few of us?” And he told me: “Yes, hard times, hard times, but you will be fine.” I said goodbye: “The main thing is that everything is fine with you. Goodbye,” said Fedotov.

The Nigerian football player has been playing for CSKA Moscow since 2020, his contract is valid until the summer of 2024. Last season, the striker played 32 matches, scored 5 goals and made the same number of assists.

Next season, the player will play for the German Hertha.

The RFU sees the benefits of foreign coaches working at clubs

“If we talk about approaches to the work of coaches, including foreign ones, we see advantages in attracting strong foreign specialists to work in clubs and academies.
