Russian coach Anatoly Byshovets expressed his condolences on the death of Georgy Yartsev.
The death of Yartsev at the age of 75 became known earlier on Friday. All matches of the first round of the RPL will begin with a minute of silence in memory of Yartsev and the former Spartak football player Alexander Kozlov who died on the same day.
– We say goodbye to the man who left a mark on football, the history of Spartak and the Russian team. This was a man I was friends with. His professional and human qualities made him worthy of coaching a club like Spartak.
And he won the championship with him and revealed the youth – Tikhonov, Titov, Alenichev. That Spartak played fast and attacking football. Explosive, not amenable to any defenders. My condolences,” said Byshovets.
As a football player, Yartsev, together with Spartak, became the champion of the USSR in 1979. In the role of the coach of the “red-white” he won the gold medals of the championship of Russia in 1996.
