Bazhenov is sure that Shelia deserved to be removed for the episode with Sobolev

Former Spartak striker Nikita Bazhenov, in a commentary on Match TV, expressed the opinion that Akhmat goalkeeper Giorgi Shelia should have received a red card in the episode with Spartak forward Alexander Sobolev.
“Akhmat” and “Spartak” on Saturday in Grozny played a draw in the match of the first round of the WORLD RPL – 1:1. At the end of the meeting, Sobolev and Shelia collided in the penalty area in the fight for the top ball. The goalkeeper fell to the lawn, Sobolev resisted, the ball had already left the field, the Georgian prone player poked Sobolev in the calf. – What do you think about the episode involving Sobolev and Shelia in the last minutes of the game?
– For some reason I thought that Shelia would have a red one. It’s just that if a person brushes it off, I think that’s it. But I know Bezborodov well: he is a good referee. I don’t know, maybe they will explain to us, maybe there is some kind of new interpretation, Bazhenov told Match TV.
In the 41st minute of the meeting, Spartak defender Maciej Rybus received two yellow cards in 10 seconds. First, he broke the rules on the defender Darko Todorovic, disrupting the attack, the Pole received the second “yellow card” for aggressive behavior after the whistle.
– Impressions from the game “Spartak” and “Akhmat” are very positive. They played very energy-intensive football. It was very hot today, but at the same time the teams showed an excellent match. Regarding the removal of Rybus? I think it was the cleanest removal. That moment with Rybus is utter stupidity. As I understand it, it’s not for throwing the ball back, but there he still provoked somehow. There, a foul on yellow pulled, and he also threw the ball back. I think that it was not for recoil, and then they hacked something, grappled. And here he received two cards at once. An adult guy should think with his head. Now they are watching it all closely. But at the same time, Spartak then added and played cool football, had moments. It seems to me that Grozny began to keep the score ahead of time and got psychologically hooked, and the guests added. And so, with ten men, I think Spartak played great, ”Bazhenov believes.

– The most unusual and extraordinary was the New Year, which I spent in Israel during my stay as a player in the USSR youth team. The next day we had to play against the Swedish national team in the final. The Swedes sat next to our table on New Year’s Eve, they saw how we relaxed, and how we relaxed. – As a Ukrainian citizen and a football coach, what do you expect from the new year 2026?
– To be honest, everyone is waiting for one thing; peace. And I’m not the only one who can say that. If there is peace, everything will return to normal. I really want the war to end as soon as possible, for people to be free, for parents not to bury their children. This is the most important thing. And as a coach, I expect changes for the better in our football.
I would like the Ukrainian championship to be full-fledged and finally achieve some kind of stability. And also for the Ukrainian national team to successfully pass the World Cup play-off tests and please the fans as often as possible. I also really want the football players in our club to have a good future, to become real football masters, to gain recognition and to be invited to various national teams.
