The Russian youth team is negotiating with rivals to hold matches in September
The youth national football team of Russia in the framework of the September training camp will hold several friendly matches, negotiations with potential rivals are underway, said the head coach of the team Mikhail Galaktionov.
Galaktionov in June headed PARI NN, replacing Alexander Kerzhakov.
— September gathering is planned for this year. We can already say that the logistics of holding test matches with various opponents are being worked out, Galaktionov told RB Sport. “Understanding will come soon. To date, the list of a new, young convocation, younger players has already been oriented. There is a group of players who have already proven themselves in the RPL. Even better guys will appear in the youth team, including from PARI NN. All players will be in full view, an extended list will be formed in stages.
– With which teams are you negotiating?
– I do not want to talk, because the negotiations are going on with different teams. As the RFU reaches an agreement and the document is signed, everyone will be announced.
— Negotiations are being conducted with the CIS countries?
– No, not at all.
Russian combined clubs and national teams have been suspended from participation in tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA due to the situation in Ukraine.
– How many years do you think the situation with the ban of Russian football will last?
– It is hard to say. You can see how the situation is developing. The most important thing is that the situation in the country and around it stabilize.
– Do you admit that for another 5 years we will be without European cups?
– It is difficult to predict something today. The situation is what it is. As far as I understand, the leadership of the RFU is in full contact with UEFA today, regardless of our suspension. We are in full confidence and hope that as soon as the situation globally stabilizes, our teams and clubs will return to all competitions. When that happens, only time will tell.
