Another first-class goalkeeper is growing up in Russia. Even Akinfeev at one time did not do this with his feet.
Lokomotiv Moscow, as well as many Russian clubs, will start the new season of the Premier League with a very experimental squad. Leaders and coaches shook up the roster of railroad workers in the summer off-season.
There was no place in the first team and the famous Brazilian goalkeeper with a Russian passport Guilherme. This fact could cause concern among the fans of the Moscow team, because yesterday’s 18-year-old junior came out to defend the goal in the match with PARI NN.
But from the very first minutes, the young player proved to everyone that another high-level goalkeeper is growing up in our football.
Saved the team with a great blow
Daniil Khudyakov, despite his young age, is by no means a debutant at the gates of Lokomotiv. For the adult team of railway workers, the goalkeeper managed to play more than ten matches by the age of 18. Including on his account there are games against Lazio and Marseille in the Europa League last season. But when Guilherme was in shape, Khudyakov usually occupied a chair on the bench.
But Khudyakov started the new season in the first team. The coaching staff entrusted the young goalkeeper to defend the gates of the Moscow team in the first round match against PARI NN Nizhny Novgorod, which took place at the home arena of the railwaymen.
In the opening minutes of the game, guests from Nizhny Novgorod could not create many dangerous moments at the gates of Khudyakov. By the 70th minute, PARI NN’s statistics showed a dull zero in the “Shots on target” column. But the situation could have turned out differently, if at the beginning of the game Daniil had not made a chic rescue.
In the 17th minute of the game, Nizhny Novgorod’s Angolan winger Felicio Milson made a breakthrough on the left flank, ahead of all Lokomotiv’s defenders. He could calmly create a dangerous attack near the Lokomotiv goal, but Khudyakov was against this.
The goalkeeper of the railroad workers correctly read the situation and got out of the gate in time, ahead of the Angolan by a few centimeters in their duel near the sideline. From contact with the goalkeeper, the ball jumped up, and Milson was ready to fight for him in the jump.
It would be logical in this situation to play with the head, but Daniil made a non-standard decision. After taking a few steps, the goalkeeper jumped high and hit the flying ball with side scissors. Only for this most difficult kick in execution one could praise the young goalkeeper, but the way he did it is even more delightful.
Khudyakov’s leg at the moment of impact was right next to the head of the Angolan striker, flying away from her in a matter of centimeters. Already falling, the goalkeeper slightly touched the opponent’s back with a boot, but there was no intent and cruelty in this. Yes, and Milson did not pretend and beg for a foul.
As a result, this spectacular rescue allowed Khudyakov to keep his goal intact until the 70th minute. During this time, his teammates managed to score one goal. Unfortunately, the bright action of the goalkeeper did not bring victory to Lokomotiv in this meeting. The game ended in a draw.

Vladimir SHARAN: “The Swedes were too weak at the New Year’s table”
For many, the coming year is associated with bright hopes and expectations of changes for the better in life and work. The famous football coach is no exception. Vladimir SharanShared with the reporter Spor.ua Statements about the New Year theme.
– Until what age did you believe in Santa Claus?
– I don’t even remember. Probably up to age six. No more. Until I went to school.
– What is the most unusual New Year celebration in your life?
– The most unusual and extraordinary was the New Year, which I spent in Israel during my stay as a player in the USSR youth team. An international tournament was organized in this country, in which our team participated. It’s plus twenty outside and we’re celebrating the new year in shorts and T-shirts.
The next day we had to play against the Swedish national team in the final. The Swedes sat next to our table on New Year’s Eve, they saw how we relaxed, and how we relaxed. Believe me, we rested much better and played much better (smiles). As it turned out, the Swedes were very weak at the festive table. We won the final match 2-0.
– As a Ukrainian citizen and a football coach, what do you expect from the new year 2026?
– To be honest, everyone is waiting for one thing; peace. And I’m not the only one who can say that. If there is peace, everything will return to normal. I really want the war to end as soon as possible, for people to be free, for parents not to bury their children. This is the most important thing. And as a coach, I expect changes for the better in our football.
I would like the Ukrainian championship to be full-fledged and finally achieve some kind of stability. And also for the Ukrainian national team to successfully pass the World Cup play-off tests and please the fans as often as possible. I also really want the football players in our club to have a good future, to become real football masters, to gain recognition and to be invited to various national teams.
