England bans children under 12 from heading the ball in football matches
The Football Association of England (FA) introduces a ban on heading for children under 12 years old. This rule is being introduced in children’s leagues, clubs and schools across the country.
“If the test is successful, the goal is then to remove deliberate heading in all U12 and below football matches from the 2023-24 season,” an FA spokesperson was quoted as saying by The Mirror.
Previously, a study was conducted that found that former football players are more likely to die from brain diseases, which are believed to be closely related to the constant heading of the ball.
