The ex-coach of Ufa explained why there were more goals in the RPL WORLD from outside the penalty area

Former Ufa head coach Igor Kolyvanov explained to RT why in the WORLD of the Russian Premier League (RPL) they began to score from a long distance.

In the first round of the RPL, seven goals were scored from outside the penalty area at once.

– Many domestic teams have recently been betting on a scheme with three central defenders. Therefore, it is not so easy to bring the ball to the penalty area. Very rarely they began to score after flank passes, since all zones are saturated. Increased density forces players to come up with non-standard moves. Let’s hope that the players will now hit even more often from a distance, – said Kolyvanov.

But the former Dynamo Moscow coach Andrey Kobelev does not agree that such performance after strikes from a distance is the trend of the new RPL season.

– Only one round has passed, and therefore it is too early to draw any conclusions. Let’s wait until at least three or four passes, and then we will judge. Probably, we just saw some local surge. It’s just that an abnormally many shots hit the target, ”Kobelev told RT.

The second round of the WORLD RPL starts on Friday with the Zenit-Krylya Sovetov match in St. Petersburg. The live broadcast on the MATCH PREMIER channel will begin at 19:55 Moscow time.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
