Georgy Yartsev is buried at the Transfiguration Cemetery in Moscow

Former head coach of the Moscow “Spartak” and the Russian national team Georgy Yartsev was buried in the Preobrazhensky cemetery in Moscow.

Next to the grave of Yartsev is the burial place of the ten-time champion of the USSR and Olympic champion in water polo Alexander Dolgushin.

The farewell ceremony with Yartsev was held earlier on Tuesday at the arena of the Academy of FC Spartak. A funeral service was held at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Sokolniki.

The death of Yartsev at the age of 75 became known on July 15. As a football player, he, together with Spartak, became the champion of the USSR in 1979. In the role of the coach of the “red-white” Yartsev won the gold medals of the championship of Russia in 1996. Yartsev headed the Russian national team from 2003 to 2005.
