Former football player of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” Vladislav Radimov believes that the club does not harm the large number of Brazilian players in the squad.
According to media reports, the Blue-White-Blues plan to extend the contract with midfielder Wendel, who has been playing for the team since 2020.
— Wendel is a good football player, the more of them in Zenit, the better. Whether he is a backbone player or not, I don’t know, it’s better to ask (head coach Sergei) Semak. For me, he is a very good player. I am not afraid of such a number of Brazilians in Zenit, it seems that there are no problems with them. The main thing is to play well,” Radimov told RB Sport.
In the 2021/22 season, Wendel took part in 35 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and making five assists.
On Tuesday, Zenit announced the loan from Corinthians of goalkeeper Ivan Quaresma and midfielder Gustavo Mantua. The St. Petersburg club loaned forward Yuri Alberto to the Brazilian team.
