Mane named African Player of the Year
Bayern and Senegal striker Sadio Mane has won the African Player of the Year award.
Mane passed forward Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool) and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (Senegal, Chelsea) in the fight for the prize.
The press service of the African Football Confederation also reported that the Senegal team was recognized as the best African team of the season.
Previously, Mane was recognized as the best African player of the year in 2019.
Mane, along with the Senegal national team, is the current holder of the African Cup of Nations. He won the FA Cup and the League Cup with Liverpool.
