Atlético Madrid and Argentina midfielder Rodrigo de Paul is at risk of missing the 2022 World Cup due to a child support lawsuit, according to Mundo Deportivo.

A few weeks ago, the former girlfriend of the football player, Camila Homs, filed a lawsuit against him, which should establish financial compensation, the frequency and format of meeting with two children, and also decide on the division of property. One of the conditions for obtaining a visa to Qatar is the absence of an outstanding criminal record, lawsuits and other similar issues.

– To go to Qatar, you should not have a criminal case with an unannounced verdict. This conclusion can be drawn by reading the FIFA regulations. I know de Paul well, I know his feelings, especially for my children. I think that this should help in resolving the situation,” said the head of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia.

De Paul broke up with Homs last year and began dating singer Martina Stoessel.

The World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
