Ferrini midfielder Andrea Musiu, 20, has died during a football match in Italy, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening on a football field in the Italian city of Cagliari. While playing with friends, Musiu suddenly felt unwell, passed out and fell to the ground. Two ambulances arrived to help the young man, but they failed to revive the football player.
Later, the head of the football sector of the Ferrini sports society, Pietro Caddeo, said that Musiu had taken a break from playing for the last year due to heart problems.
— Andrea is a good smart guy and, besides, very talented. For the last two seasons he has been our player, but he has not been active for a year now, because he has health problems, with a heart. We were supposed to resume training soon. The whole Ferrini is heartbroken,” Caddeo said.
Musiu also played in the youth team of Cagliari.
