Jikia stood up for a fan in a difficult situation. And led the stands in delight.
The Moscow team led by Guilherme Abascal did not start the season in the best way. At first, the Red-Whites lost devastatingly to Zenit in the Super Bowl, and then miraculously took away a draw from Grozny, once again getting into a referee scandal. It seemed that the misadventures of Spartak would never end again…
However, in the second round, the long-awaited holiday finally came to the streets of the capital’s fans. “Spartak” won the first victory, spectacularly finished with “Krasnodar” on the road. True, for one unfortunate fan, this pleasant southern evening could still end sadly … If not for the captain of the “red-whites”.
Georgy’s noble deed was duly appreciated in the stands!
Long awaited visit
The departure of Spartak to the game with Krasnodar turned out to be significant in many respects. Firstly, under the auspices of the young coach, Muscovites won for the first time – and they did it very brightly. The “Red-Whites” took advantage of the removal of the southerners, which happened in the first half, and eventually brought the score to a devastating 4:1. The team hasn’t beaten the Bulls so confidently on the road for several years!

Secondly, the day before the match, Spartak had a rare opportunity to visit Stavropol – Muscovites transited through this city and got to Krasnodar. The meeting with the Stavropol fans of Spartak, who had not seen their favorite team live for decades, made a great impression on both Abaskal and the players. Giorgi Jikia later said:
– The coach saw that Spartak had a lot of fans. He was the initiator of us staying there and paying attention to everyone who came. If I’m not mistaken, Spartak has not been to Stavropol since 1990. 32 years. We were obliged to linger there, – Bombardier quotes the player.
The captain of Spartak, however, has always been responsible for communicating with fans. But Jikia showed his human qualities not only in Stavropol, before the match with Krasnodar, but also after it. Fans filmed the player’s noble deed in the room under the stands – and now these shots have scattered across social networks.
“Cap, you’re handsome!”
After the end of the game, one of the guests of the match decided on a classic fan adventure by running onto the field. However, the young man failed to hold the local stewards. Law enforcement officers immediately detained the fan – and slowly took him to the room under the stands.
Among the players who had already left the field by that time, only Jikia paid attention to the episode. The defender of “Spartak” went to the tribune after the stewards, where he tried to stop them. The player’s conversation with security officers was caught on video.
Having caught up with the stewards, the football player tried to stand up for the fan who had grown hot. At first, the stewards obviously did not want to “give” the fan to the captain, but then two other representatives of the club joined the negotiations. Ultimately, the experts had to give in. The fan shook Jikia’s hand in gratitude and went back to the stands with him.
The audience appreciated the captain’s gesture, of course. When Georgy and the fan started to return to the field, the fans charged:
Cap, you’re handsome! Cap, bravo! Bravo, Zhora! Ji-ki-ya, Ji-ki-ya!
A few seconds later, the name of Georgy was already chanted by the entire fan tribune. The player himself calmly retired from the field to applause: his professional mission for today has definitely been completed.
