According to my information, Leonid Fedun will no longer chair the new Spartak Board of Directors, a person from LUKOIL will manage the club and this will happen very soon.
Maybe Fedun will hang around for a while and participate as a minority shareholder, but one thing is clear: its absolute power will soon run out. As far as I know, LUKOIL’s Spartak will be managed by its first vice president and shareholder Alexander Matytsyn. It could very well be that it will drive the new SD. However, even if he doesn’t drive personally, it’s not entirely important. The following is important: Matytsyn will make decisions on key processes.
Legal procedures are currently underway to transfer the shares to LUKOIL. That’s why Spartak doesn’t seem to have a limited budget, but there is absolutely no free money for transfers: Fedun no longer allocates funds for these purposes, LUKOIL hasn’t made any decisions yet. “Spartacus” in this sense was suspended between the old and the new, the past and the future. Apparently, as soon as the new shareholders take over Spartak, transfer funds will appear.
The club office will take on a special role. If before the general manager of Spartak did not enjoy great independence, then it is obvious that after the change of ownership structure, Evgeny Melezhikov will have room for action. As far as I know, one of the main objectives will be the systematization of decision-making processes. This means that each division of the club will be assigned clear responsibilities and final decisions will not be made at the behest of the heart, but taking into account the results of a qualified analysis. Also for this reason, the club plans to strengthen the sports block in the near future.
