Head coach of Barcelona Xavi played a key role in the transfer of the Sevilla defender Giulio Kunde at the Catalan club, according to Diario Sport.
According to the source, Xavi kept in touch with the player and asked him to be patient and wait for Barca to send his offer.
Kunde was close to moving to Chelsea, but due to the active involvement of the blaugrana manager, he decided to move to Barça.
It was also previously reported that Chelsea would block Marco Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta’s transfers to Barca due to Kunde.
