Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin called the reasons for the devastating result with Torpedo (4: 0) in the second round of the WORLD of the Russian Premier League (RPL), and also commented on the rivalry with Igor Leshchuk for a place in the starting lineup.
– At the beginning of the first half, not everything worked out, but we scored the first goal and turned the tide of events. Then two more – as a result, they went on a break with a good margin. In the second half we had more chances and we brought the match to a 4-0 rout. Dynamo played really well both in defense and in attack. One of the reasons is the quick first goal. In such matches it is always important to score first, and it will be easier later on.
Our goal was not a very easy moment in the second half – we had to react quickly. I understood that there would be a shot from the flank into the center of the penalty area for the oncoming Torpedo player, and it happened. I took a few steps, opened up, and the ball hit me in the chest.
The game of Sazonov and Kutitsky? Saba and Kutya are two young defenders, it’s definitely not easy for them now, but with every match they feel more confident. We talked before the game – I said that I would suggest from the position how best to open and receive the ball. I tried to support them. Shunin also spoke about the rivalry with Igor Leshchuk for a place in the starting lineup.
