Former striker of the Kazan “Rubin” Artur Sagitov spoke about the transition to the Slovenian “Primorye”.
The 22-year-old player joined the Slovenian club in June this year.
– When I was driving, I was afraid that there would be some kind of prejudice with the current political situation. I talked with our other guys, some in the Czech Republic or Poland had cases when the Russians were treated badly. Therefore, I constantly asked the sports director if everything would be fine. But here, on the contrary, everyone supports me, smiles, jokes.
– How?
– For example, in the team they call me Kerzhakov. For some reason with an accent on “a”. I asked why Kerzhakov, the coach replied: “Because he is a top striker.” The second coach calls me Dziuba. Someone spoke about Ignashevich. That’s all they know about Russian football here,” RB Sport quoted Sagitov as saying.
