Atalanta defender Jose Luis Palomino has tested positive for doping, reports Ansa.
In a sample of a 32-year-old Argentine, the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (NADO Italia) found the anabolic steroid nandrolone. The player has been temporarily suspended from training and matches.
Palomino has been with Bergamo since 2017 and has made 155 Serie A appearances and 202 in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. Previously, the defender played for the Bulgarian Ludogorets, the French Mets, the Argentinean San Lorenzo and Argentinos Juniors.
In the 1990s and early 2000s, some Serie A players tested positive for nandrolone. On it, in particular, came across Josep Guardiola and Edgar Davids.
Palomino’s teammate is Russian national team midfielder Alexei Miranchuk.
