Suarez says he has tentatively agreed to move to Nacional
Striker Luis Suarez announced that he had reached a preliminary agreement on the transition to the Uruguayan Nacional.
“I have reached a preliminary agreement to join Nacional. I hope that the details will be finalized soon and the transition will be formalized,” the 35-year-old Uruguayan said in a video message on social networks.
Suarez began his professional career at Nacional in 2005. Subsequently, in Europe, he played for the Dutch Groningen and Ajax, the English Liverpool, the Spanish Barcelona and Atletico, which he left at the end of the 2021/22 season. As part of the “blue garnet” striker became a four-time champion of Spain, a four-time winner of the Spanish Cup, winner of the Champions League. In 2021, he won the championship with Atlético Madrid. Suarez is the all-time top scorer in Uruguay history with 68 goals.
