The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) has sent an appeal to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) regarding the actions of Turkish Fenerbahce fans during the Champions League qualification match against Dynamo Kyiv, according to the UAF website.

In particular, the UAF pointed to the “unacceptable chants” of the fans of the Istanbul team and reported a possible violation of the UEFA disciplinary regulations by the host club.

The return leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League took place on July 27 in Istanbul and ended with a 2-1 victory for Dynamo in extra time. After the midfielder of the “white-blue” Vitaly Buyalsky scored the first goal in the match in the second half, the hosts’ fans began to chant the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin. European football’s governing body had previously launched an investigation into the incident.

The Ukrainian team on aggregate reached the third qualifying round of the Champions League, where they will play with the Austrian Sturm.
