Ural head coach Igor Shalimov believes that in Torino midfielder Alexei Miranchuk will have more chances to reveal himself in terms of football.
According to Italian media, the 26-year-old Russian midfielder is close to moving to the Turin club on loan with a buyout option.
– In Turin, Alexei really has much more chances to play. The club probably gave him certain guarantees. You will have to look further. Already in the first matches in his performance in a new place, much will become clear. Understand, it is very difficult to move from a team that plays in the Champions League to an outsider. Fighting for survival is psychologically difficult.
I am sure that Miranchuk in Turin is counted on as a person who is able to pull the team out of a difficult situation and become a leader. Let’s see if he can handle this role. It’s one thing to come on as a substitute on fresh legs, when partners demonstrate bright combinational football, it’s another to play from the first minutes, when you often have to defend, RT Shalimov quotes.
In the 2021/22 season, Miranchuk made 25 appearances for Atalanta in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing five assists. The Russian moved to the Italian team from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2020.
