Former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has joined Como in Italy’s second division (Serie B), according to the club’s official Twitter account.
The Spaniard moved to Como on a free transfer after his agreement with Monaco expired. According to media reports, the contract with the 35-year-old footballer is for two years.
“I came here to play my best and win as many matches as possible. This is my priority, and if I felt that I was not capable of it, I would hang up my boots. I want to take Como to the level they deserve in Serie A. I decided to come here for many reasons. I wanted a project that would give me enthusiasm, I was not interested in money, – Fabregas quotes from the Football Italia press conference.
Fabregas previously played for London’s Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, as part of the Spanish national team became the world and European champions.
Como finished 13th in Serie B last season.
