Former footballer of the Russian national team Igor Kolyvanov shared his opinion on why the Atalanta midfielder’s transfer did not take place Alexey Miranchuk in Turin.
I don’t know the situation inside Atalanta. Maybe one of the players playing in Miranchuk’s position got injured, or maybe Atalanta simply didn’t agree financially with Torino. Yet, once they paid a significant amount for Alexei, but we don’t know what Torino offered. It is too early to say that Gasperini’s decision means a mandatory change of Miranchuk’s role in the team compared to previous seasons. We will find out only as the season progresses.
Miranchuk has been with Atalanta for two years, but during this period he appeared a few times in the first team. He is 26, it is clear that he wants to play more often. When you play a little you lose the pace of the game, it is difficult to get in shape in this mode. I think he would rather go to Turin than sit on the bench at Atalanta and be an important player in the new team. All that remains is to hope not to give up and prove their right to take the field at Atalanta.
