Bayer attacker Serdar Azmoun’s agent Armand Durn believes that the Iranian is capable of becoming the top scorer in the German championship.
– You said that you did not discuss with Azmun the decision of the Russian court, according to which he must pay alimony to a resident of Kazan, who said that she gave birth to Serdar. Did you end up talking about it?
– Honestly, no. The last time we discussed this topic was the off-season, Serdar was leaving. But I note that he returned from vacation in great shape, he worked really hard, and we are proud of Serdar. He also performed well during the pre-season. And I tried not to bother him with this topic, not to distract him. I want Azmun to approach the new season in optimal mental and physical readiness. On Saturday, Bayer will have a crucial away match against Borussia in Dortmund, so this week is very important for Serdar, and now is not the time to raise such questions. Let’s see, maybe in the coming weeks I will raise this topic, but now is not the time. We need to focus on football.
What are you expecting from Azmun this season? Any chances to become the top scorer of the German championship?
“Of course, he is capable of it. But at Bayer, Serdar can play in different positions, not only as a clean striker. He has an incredible technical arsenal and Leverkusen knows this and can use him as a false nine or, as they call it in Germany, a shadow forward. At Bayern, his task is not only to score, but also to create scoring chances for others. For example, in the German Cup match against Elversberg (4:3), despite the fact that the team flew out of the draw, Serdar gave two assists, – said the agent of RB Sport.
As part of Zenit, 27-year-old Azmun won the Russian championship four times, took one Russian Cup and two Super Cups. In January, the player moved to Bayer.
