“It’s cool to come to Russia with a Russian name” – Zenit goalkeeper Ivan

The Brazilian goalkeeper of Zenit Ivan Quaresma admitted that before coming to Russia he was not interested in the origin of his name.
The Petersburg club rented Ivan from the Brazilian Corinthians for one year with the right to buy.
The name was chosen by my grandfather. He always took care of me and wanted me to grow up to be a worthy person. For example, he became a doctor. He gave me this name, although I never thought about its origin. And when Zenit became interested, I began to learn more about the country and realized that the name Ivan is quite popular here. It is not very common in Brazil. And in Russia I already have two acquaintances Ivan. It’s cool that I came here with a Russian name, – quotes the words of the goalkeeper “Championship”.
Ivan Quaresma is 25 years old, his contract with Corinthians runs until the end of 2024.
