Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) could not answer the question about the timing of the decision on the appeals of eight Russian clubs against the decision of the International Football Association (FIFA) in relation to foreign players playing in Russia.
Previously FIFA allowed the legionaries to suspend contracts with Russian clubs. So if the member clubs RFS have failed to reach a mutual agreement with their foreign players and coaches by 30 June 2022 and, unless otherwise agreed in writing, these players and coaches will have the right to suspend their employment contract with their clubs until 30 June 2023. To the press office CAS reported:
The Arbitration Court of Sport registered the appeals of Zenit St. Petersburg, Dynamo Moscow, CSKA and against Lokomotiv, Rubin Kazan, Sochi, Krasnodar and Rostov FIFA. The procedures started recently, at the moment they are in the initial stage. It is currently impossible to indicate when the final decision will be made. Due to the fact that the proceedings CAS keep on FIFA has no right to comment on this process.
