Ageless Smolov, revived Promes and cheeky Spertsyan. Let’s take a look at the emerging race of RPL scorers

And we predict who will get to the top.

By the end of the fourth round of the Russian Premier League, the main intrigues of the league begin to emerge. Now the top three of the tournament are being formed, although in this phase the teams from sixth or seventh place can reach it. It becomes clear who will fight for survival: “Ural” in the current conditions will have to pursue “Torpedo” and “Torch”. And the leaders of the scorer race are already breaking away from the main group. The latest case looks particularly promising due to the absence of Dzyuba, Azmun and doubts about Hamid Agalarov’s repeated success. Let’s analyze which of the current leaders is able to fill positions and who is able to break through in the race.

Quincy Promes, Spartak

The Dutchman remembered the best version of yourself and now it has a huge impact on Spartak’s attack. His performance in the match against Orenburg helped him take the lead in the scorers list, when he took part in each of the opponent’s goals: he scored 2 goals, gave two assists. Before that, he scored against Krasnodar and scored the Ural goal yesterday.

Promes provided an interesting explanation for his latest findings:

“How many times have I heard this story of the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ Prome … You understand that football is a team game. The team is doing well and I am doing well. The team is having a bad day and then they’re in trouble. So when you talk about “old” Promes, you’re not just talking about me. And of the whole team. And if now “return” it means that the team has started to play better. One follows from the other “.

This is easily related to what Spartak showed a year earlier: the whole team forgot how to score, the implementation was terrible. This most likely affected the Dutch midfielder’s game. Now the red and white are in shape, they can shoot even beyond the goal from three meters, but they don’t score more often. Along with the team, Quincy himself wakes up. He was already top scorer RPLso that in the best form it can repeat the result.

Fedor Smolov, Dinamo

For the second consecutive season, the striker shows excellent results at the beginning: last summer, Fedor scored 6 goals in 6 games. You shouldn’t expect a decrease in playing time yet – the coaching staff trusts him more than Konstantin Tyukavin.

Smolov has attempted an understanding with his comrades – Zakharyan has already assisted him twice. He opens in time and wastes no moments, which allows Dinamo to score points. If Fedor is stable (which is hard to believe lately), he will be able to impose competition in the dispute of the best.

Mateo Cassierra, Zenit

The Colombian started scoring less often after moving from Sochi: he scored only in the Super Cup and in four Russian Premier League games he gave an assist.

It is unlikely that Mateo has lost his playing qualities: in Sochi he was a normal forerunner, he could both close his serve from the flank and break away from the opposing defenders in an attack suffered from the serve. With a limited number of shots, he squeezes the most out of moments, due to an advantageous position when he receives the ball or the ability to shoot in touch.

The achievements of the football player can be attributed to adaptation – you still have to play with teammates. At the same time, Semak continues to believe in Cassierra and frees him from the first few minutes, even though Ivan Sergeyev is ready to score in reserve. In the future, it is confidence that he can play a decisive role.

Jorge Carrascal, CSKA

Fedotov uses Jorge and Medina in the semi-flanks of the offensive trio with Chalov: they show comparable performances. Meanwhile, while in CSKA Carrascal is the player most aimed at hitting. With the “Ural” the “soldiers” eliminated both wings.

But the Colombian was also autonomously looking for a moment to break through on goal: from the corner of the penalty area at 25 ‘, from outside the center (37’). In subsequent games, the Colombian striker demonstrated his entire arsenal of skills: he came into play to improve his position and break through, he could move from the wing to the edge if he noticed Chalov’s absence.

Carrascal seems extremely confident in the system Fedotov instills in the capital’s team.

Maxim Glushenkov, The wings of the Soviets

He has not yet entered the top ten of scorers, although with what he showed in the first few games he can make it in the future. The move to Spartak really turned out to be for the striker early – He is talented, but objectively he is not yet able to compete with the top exponents of the top club. He needs time and trust, but it is with patience that traditionally the red and white have problems.

“Wings of the Soviets” is the team with which Glushenkov is preparing to recover. There is no need to contend for a place at the base after Sarveli’s departure. Maxim manages to find space and manages to make room for the impending blow (this was the case with the match with Orenburg). Fighting Promes, Smolov and Carrascal at this stage is difficult, but in the future Maxim will be able to reach the same level.

Ivan Sergeev, Zenit

The striker hasn’t lost in performance after moving to Zenit – and now he looks organic in the St. Petersburg game. He lost his place at the beginning, even if it wasn’t objective enough: Cassierra, who took his place, doesn’t score, but needs confidence. The situation will improve as soon as the rookie adapts to the new club.

But in the next stage another problem will emerge: you will have to divide the playing time. The Zenit looks good with a 4-3-3 and moving one to the wing would not be the best solution. The solution could be to go back to 4-4-2. Whether Cassierra and Sergeyev will complement each other as much as Azmun and Dziuba is another question.

Eduard Spertsyan, Krasnodar

Spertsyan, judging by the statistics, is already ready to take a step forward. In 4-2-3-1 it was a nominal “ten”, but heat map data from the first matches RPL shows that the midfielder is more active and receives the ball in the left half.

It is Eduard who competes with Smolov and Promes after four rounds: if the 22-year-old pupil wins the scorers’ race, the league will benefit.
