Lukoil intends to buy the Spartak stadium, negotiations are underway, said the general director of the Moscow club
Evgeniy Melezhikov, general director of Spartak Moscow, confirmed that Lukoil intends to buy the red-and-whites’ home stadium, Otkritie Bank Arena, and also spoke about the change in the club’s shareholders.
– Is it true that Lukoil wants to buy the Spartak stadium?
– Truth. We are working on this, a deal is being finalized for the sale of the club’s stadium. Not ready to comment now. Lukoil and the football club are redesigning the stadium.
Will it be the same with the club?
– You know that there was information about the change in the composition of shareholders in Spartak.
– What does it mean that Fedun will cease to be a key person in the club?
– Change of shareholders, maybe redistribution of shares among them.
– Fedun will keep his share?
– Hope so. In any case, if a shareholder or their composition changes, a general meeting of shareholders is held and a decision is made on the composition of the members of the board of directors.
– When can we expect a change?
— I think that in September.
On Saturday, Spartak defeated Ural Yekaterinburg 2-0 in the fourth round of the MIR of the Russian Premier League. Guillermo Abascal’s team is in first place in the standings, the closest rivals have a match in hand.
