The figure skater will earn more per game than half of professional football players in Russia.
The football media league, which gathered a huge audience on the Internet in its first season, plans to triumphantly return in the near future. Huge spectator interest after the debut tournament drew attention to the project, even people who are far from football.
The famous figure skater Evgeni Plushenko did not pass by the upcoming second season, who immediately blew up the information space with the size of his fee for entering the field.
Many professional football players in our country dream of such money!
Salary at the level of a football player of the First League
On August 3, the Broke Boys football team experienced one significant change for the world of figure skating. As part of this media team, Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko entered the game against the Match TV team for the first time. At the same time, the coaching staff entrusted the former athlete with a place at the base.
It is already known for sure that in the near future the skater plans to defend the colors of this team in the second season of the media league. Plushenko publicly confirmed this information.
But you need to understand that the football skill of the famous athlete is, if not at zero, then at a very low level, and you should not expect serious achievements from him on the field. During his career in figure skating, he simply could not play football, so as not to receive unwanted damage, and this is a big part of his life.
“I always dreamed of playing football, but due to the fact that I had been performing and skating for a long time, it was dangerous,” Evgeny said in an interview with RBC-Sport.
The skater also opened up about his fee, which he will receive for one game as part of the Broke Boys. Although the athlete did not name specific figures, the estimated income nevertheless became clear.
When asked by a journalist whether the information about his fee of 100 thousand per game and the same bonus from the bookmaker is true, Plushenko answered in the negative. He noted that he receives only a salary, but it is more than 100 thousand. Eugene did not name a specific amount. To a clarifying question, he answered with his characteristic note of boasting.
– Not yet. What for? I think that this is generally a trial story for us. Then we will grow under the contract. I gave the price in such a friendly way,” the skater replied.
The famous athlete, perhaps, is very far from the realities of our professional football, otherwise he would not have boasted of a salary that the vast majority of Russian players playing in the lower leagues do not receive. At the same time, athletes who have devoted more than one year to football training and receive 30 thousand a month will obviously be surprised at such figures in the media league. Even many FNL club players cannot boast of such income.

“Go in for sports, work hard, win competitions”
But the skater is no stranger to clumsily bragging about large incomes to an audience that can’t even come close to earning that kind of money. In 2020, when the whole country was in quarantine, and many lost their jobs, Plushenko boasted on his social networks about buying a German Porsche Taycan Turbo S electric car, the market value of which was then estimated at 13 million rubles.
In addition to laudatory reviews about his new car, the skater also slipped phrases that were rather unpleasant for many, urging his subscribers to work harder in order to afford luxury purchases.
– That’s it, friends! Go in for sports, work hard, win competitions, be champions. Or maybe in another field. You just have to work, work, don’t mess around, don’t lie on the couch, don’t drink like some couch critics do. Always take care of yourself and play sports – and you will have everything, – says Plushenko in the video.

It is natural that the audience did not appreciate the message of the figure skating star and went to write negative comments about the athlete. But this story of showing off luxury cars is not the only one in Yevgeny’s biography.
In 2019, the skater came under fire for a social media post where he challenged followers to guess which of two Porsches he was going to drive. The audience did not appreciate the publication, so much so that he even had to justify himself to the fans.
“Everything that I have, I earned with my health and my work!” I didn’t squeeze, I didn’t steal, I paid all taxes to the state, I skated a huge number of shows with my son in Russia and abroad over the past year! I’ve been riding shows all over the world for 21 years! — Plushenko wrote in response to the negative in his address.
As if after another unsuccessful statement about high incomes, Eugene did not catch a new wave of hate. Now from the huge football community.
