Atalanta’s Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk did not move to Torino, as the club from Bergamo increased the amount of the player’s mandatory buyout.
Earlier it was reported that Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini blocked Miranchuk’s transfer to the Turin club. It was planned that the midfielder will move to a new club on loan with the right to further redemption for 12 million euros.
– Gasperini did not block the transition of Alexei. Atalanta wanted a guaranteed €14m for Miranchuk after the loan ended, but Torino can’t afford to pay that much for Alexei. Now the club has financial problems, so they pulled out of the negotiations, – said a source familiar with the situation, quoted by Sport24.
Miranchuk made 25 appearances for Atalanta last season, scoring two goals and making five assists.
