The World Cup in Qatar will start a day earlier.
The opening match of the world championship, in which the teams of Qatar and Ecuador will battle, has therefore been postponed to a separate date. Previously, this match was supposed to take place on the same day as Senegal v Netherlands, England v Iran, United States of America – Wales, scheduled for 21 November.
The match between Senegal and the Netherlands has been rescheduled for the evening time slot, previously Qatar and Ecuador should have met at this time. Therefore, the group stage of the world championship will last from 20 November to 6 December inclusive. The semifinals are scheduled for 13 and 14 December, the final will be played on 18 December.
In the message FIFA this decision is said to be tied to the tradition of marking the start of the world championship with an opening ceremony and first match with the participation of the tournament hosts or current tournament winners.
