Zenit has a sufficient number of Russian players who are ready to replace legionnaires, said the head coach of the St. Petersburg football club Sergei Semak.
Starting from the new season, the following restriction applies in the Russian Championship: no more than 13 foreign players in the application for the season, while no more than 8 foreign players can be on the field at the same time. In the match of the fourth round of the WORLD RPL against Akhmat (0: 0), the Brazilian midfielder of the “blue-white-blue” Claudinho was injured, who was out for 4-5 weeks.
– Does the limit on legionnaires create problems for you now?
– If it were not there, it would be easier, but the rule is the rule, we start from what is. The limit does not create problems, because we have enough Russians in the clip who can go out and play, ”Semak said at a briefing.
In the game with Akhmat, Zenit goalkeeper Daniil Odoevsky received a direct red card. On Saturday, the St. Petersburg club will host CSKA in the fifth round of the RPL.
– Will personnel problems entail a change in the scheme in the match with CSKA?
– Let’s see. There are players who can play in several positions, we can rebuild during the match, there are spare options for how to develop attacks or defend. And there are always personnel problems to one degree or another. It is a pity, of course, that they lost Claudinho, but others have the opportunity to take a chance.
– Have you already decided on goalkeepers who will play with CSKA?
– Not yet. There is time and a few workouts. We will look at the state of Misha Kerzhakov and Ivan.
Zenit is fourth in the Russian Championship standings with eight points in four matches.
