Alexander Voronkov, the first coach of midfielder Alexei Miranchuk, commented on the transfer of the footballer from Atalanta to Torino on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season.
“It was a mystery shrouded in darkness. At first, Gasperini blocked the crossing. I know that Alexey himself did not want to stay at Atalanta, because he showed his own there. They do not find a common language as coach-player, player-coach. I am glad that he moved to Torino, because this is another stage for him. Alexei did not prove himself in Atalanta, because there was little time given. Somehow he skidded in place.
In the first three games, Miranchuk scored three goals and provided an assist. Then the trend went worse, in the game sense they began to choke him. He held his own, passed this test. I think that in Torino there will be an improvement in all actions and games. I am happy with this transition, – quotes Voronkov “Championship”.
Earlier it was reported that Torino would have the right to subsequently buy the transfer of the 26-year-old midfielder for 12 million euros. According to Match TV, Miranchuk’s salary in the new team will be 1.5 million euros.
Miranchuk joined the Atalanta squad in 2020, played 56 matches for the club from Bergamo, scored nine goals and provided seven assists. Earlier, the midfielder defended the colors of the Moscow Lokomotiv. For the Russian national team, the footballer played 41 matches, scoring six goals.
