Counterfeit £50 notes meant for Jesse Lingard were strewn across the City Ground when West Ham were beaten by Nottingham Forest by a close in the second round of the Premier League.
Lingard left Manchester United this summer after more than a decade at the club to join Forest on a lucrative one-year deal. West Ham also claimed the player, for which the player spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan. .
With this action, West Ham fans expressed their attitude towards Lingard. The midfielder has previously come under fire for his decision to move to Nottingham Forest, turning down the option of signing with West Ham.
Lingard is one of 14 players signed by Nottingham Forest this summer, when the club spent more than £100m on newcomers.
