Former Spartak football player Yuri Kovtun believes that it is premature to talk about the chances of Muscovites to win in the WORLD RPL.
The Red-Whites are in first place in the standings with 13 points, Zenit are next with 11 points. On September 4, the clubs will play in Moscow as part of the 8th round of the RPL.
– Did Spartak guess with Abaskal? There is such an understanding in the first matches. The fans and, above all, the leaders of the club, who did not always succeed in inviting coaches. Here they can sleep peacefully for now. I don’t know if it will be long or not. It can be seen that the team accepted Abascal. All game moments that she creates are probably related to the understanding of the training process. And most importantly, it carries over to the game.
– What do you think has changed first of all in Spartak under Abaskal?
– Everything works together here: game discipline, moments during defensive team actions, plus a transition to the attack at maximum speeds.
– Isn’t it strange to you that Abascal was not in demand in Europe?
“His career is just beginning. If someone was interested in him and did not invite him, maybe now he is upset that he did not. Abascal is probably doing what he intended.
– Will he be able to compete with Zenit for the championship? At first, they didn’t really believe in Carrera either.
The championship has just started. If Zenit wins in the upcoming match, then some plan of Abascal is working.
– Do you have any fears that Abascal might leave in the middle of the season? They will call him, and he will immediately break out of Spartak.
– This is a personal question. I think that he needs to work for one season at Spartak. If this continues, the team will progress with this coach. The players will also be interested in it, – quotes the words of Kovtun “RB Sport”.
