The Russian Football Union (RFU) will sign an agreement with Match TV, under which all Russian Cup games will be broadcast on the holding’s resources. This was reported by the press service of the RFU.
It is also reported that FONBET will become the new title sponsor of the tournament. Yandex may become an additional digital partner of the tournament. This possibility will be worked out separately.
– By decision of the Bureau of the Executive Committee of the RFU, FONBET became the new title partner of the Russian Cup, broadcasts of the games will be shown on the resources of the Match TV holding. These agreements are beneficial for all parties: our new partners, participating clubs and, of course, football fans.
When working out the solution, we proceeded from how much the Russian Cup will change from this season. The new format will make the tournament more exciting and interesting, but at the same time more resource-intensive. De facto, we will see a fundamentally new competition, which will be integrated, among other things, the new scheme of conduct proposed by the RPL clubs.
New partners will allow us to form an unprecedented prize fund for the tournament, which will be divided among the participants of the tournament. Also, a significant amount will be invested in its development and promotion. Spectators will also benefit, as they will receive maximum accessibility and quality of broadcasts.
In recent years, the RFU has done a lot of work, which has led to an increase in the interest of fans and, as a result, sponsors in the oldest tournament in our country and other competitions held by the RFU,” said Maxim Mitrofanov, Acting Secretary General of the RFU.
