De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verwey questioned the purchase of Manchester United player Lisandro Martinez. Argentine centre-back from Ajax, deal valued at €67m.
– When such an offer was made for Martinez, Ajax apparently asked themselves: “When will another club make such a high bet on a central defender with a height of 1.75 meters?” Only a Premier League club would be willing to do that. They felt it was completely irresponsible not to accept it, – quotes the words of the talkSPORT journalist.
Martinez is considered the shortest center back in the Premier League.
