Moises needs time to adapt to CSKA, said Fedotov

CSKA head coach Vladimir Fedotov, after the match of the 6th round of the WORLD RPL against Akhmat, said that defender Moises needs some more time to adapt.

Sunday’s game in Moscow ended with the victory of CSKA with a score of 4:2. In the first half, the army team scored three goals in six minutes, but then conceded twice.

– Nababkin scored for the first time in several years. How do you work with this player?

– We always note that his attitude to the matter allows him to start in the starting lineup and benefit the team. He is a team player and a professional in his field. Thank you for scoring this goal.

– How did you set up the team after the defeat from Zenit?

– We worked hard in training, it helps to drown out the pain of defeat. One of the reasons for the nondescript first half in St. Petersburg is the psychology, we can play much better. In this regard, there is a lot of work ahead. Football should be enjoyed, it is joy and inspiration. With such a mood, you need to come to training and go to games. We play for the fans, they give us motivation.

– Why is Moises now playing on the left, and not Oblyakov?

Moises added power and aggression in attack. More time is needed for teamwork; the matches he has already played have shown that he adapts confidently. He came, one might say, from another planet, it takes more time to get used to.

– Will the new central defender and striker be in the team?

– We need defenders, I would insist on two. But no one would refuse to strengthen the attack either. The position of the right lateral also needs to be strengthened. If on the left we can count on Oblyakov, Moizes and Zainutdinov, then on the right we have fewer options. The appearance of central defenders in this regard will unload us, ”Fedotov told reporters.

CSKA is 2nd in the RPL standings with 12 points.

Calls to remove Russia’s partners sound like desperation – Svishchev

Requests by Ukrainian officials to impose sanctions against Russia’s partners after the renewed admission of Russian athletes to competitions do not find understanding and seem like a gesture of desperation. This opinion was expressed by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev.

Former president of the Ukrainian Football Federation Andrei Shevchenko called for sanctions and the removal from participation in sports competitions of representatives of countries supporting Russia.

“These are already some gestures of desperation. Our athletes are increasingly allowed to participate in international competitions; there are no conflicts or boycotts. Athletes even communicate with each other, this does not bring negative consequences. The appeals of Ukrainians to remove our athletes from every part of the world no longer find understanding among appropriate sports officials. Therefore, such appeals already seem desperate,” Svishchev said.

UAF President Andrey Shevchenko He talked about the match against the Swedish national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“When we were drawn against Sweden we probably faced our toughest opponent. I have great respect for Swedish football, you have always had good national teams and great players.”

“It’s always difficult to face Scandinavian teams, even though you don’t qualify for the World Cup, because you have so much quality, character and identity. This is similar to us to some extent. I don’t think there are favourites. In the end it all depends on the details, the injury situation and the preparations,” said Shevchenko.

In case of victory, Ukraine will play with the winner of the Poland-Albania doubles for a ticket to the World Cup. Ukraine will play the final match at home on March 31, again conditionally.

In addition to the 12 teams that finished second in their groups, the 4 winners of the Nations League quartet will also participate in the play-offs. All 16 participants are divided into 4 paths. Each route will include a semi-final and a final. The semi-finals will be held on March 26, and the finals will be held on March 31, 2026.
