Veteran “Spartak” Yevgeny Lovchev believes that the former president of the Moscow club Leonid Fedun and his wife Zarema Salikhova turned the Moscow club into a “skunk”.

On Monday, it became known that Lukoil acquired a 100% stake in Spartak, as well as the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium. Fedun resigned as president, member and chairman of the board of directors in connection with his withdrawal from the club’s shareholders.

– That’s the right decision. I, as the chairman of the international society “Spartak”, more than a year ago, sent an open letter to Lukoil to (Vagit) Alekperov. My letter was signed by Kavazashvili and Gavrilov. He was supported by Tikhonov, Titov, Alenichev. I wrote Alekperov the following things – deal with this couple, with Fedun and Zarema, they dishonored the team. I did not speak in this case about football. I’m talking about behavior and their decisions. Then no one answered me from Lukoil. I think that now this is the answer to my letter.

Lukoil has been in Spartak for almost 20 years. And over these 20 years, it was clear from all decisions that Fedun did not understand football well. There were so many obscure foreigners in Spartak. But compare with Zenit, he takes the players of the Brazilian national team, and Spartak – the players of the national team of Luxembourg and Jamaica. And these people talk about the greatness of the club. And when Fedun brought to the fore a woman who constantly expressed her opinion and was ready to tear everyone apart, answering everyone through the press, Spartak became a stinker. I speak rudely, of course.

But at the same time, one cannot fail to say thanks to Fedun for the stadium, the base. At the time when Lukoil came, Spartak was saved by finances. I am grateful to them for saving the club. We saw what happened to Torpedo, what the situation was in Dynamo for a long time. And Spartak was in sight all the time, only people didn’t understand football, ”Lovchev told Match TV.
