The departure of Leonid Fedun from Spartak was an expected event, it is difficult to predict what impact this will have on the football club, said former Red-White striker Valery Kechinov.

On Monday, it was announced that Lukoil had bought a 100% stake in the club and the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium, and Fedun resigned as president and head of the red-white board of directors.

“I think everyone was ready for it. In recent months, information about the possible departure of Fedun has been received repeatedly, so he reacted calmly to what happened. I was waiting for the departure of Leonid Arnoldovich. Unfortunately, we cannot yet say how this will affect the club. The most important thing now is that the people who will invest money in Spartak should at least love him no less than Fedun. But I hope they will invest even more funds so that they have the opportunity to acquire high-class football players who are able to solve the most serious tasks, including the regular winning of the championship, – said Kechinov RT.

Fedun acquired a controlling stake in Spartak in 2004.
