Rubin lost its registration in the Russian Premier League (RPL) due to the mass departure of legionnaires from the team, the level of the game fell, according to the former defender of the Kazan club Cesar Navas.

– How did Rubin get to the First League?

“This is a very unexpected situation. Rubin demonstrated a high level of play until the legionnaires decided to leave the team. The club made great economic efforts to acquire these players and had high hopes for them. Naturally, their loss was reflected in the performances of Rubin. Ideally, I would like to have a base of young, promising Russians, but it was very difficult to replace foreigners without losing quality. It is strange and hard to see Rubin in the First League, but in life sometimes you have to learn from difficult and painful situations. We all need to work hard, even harder than ever, to return the team to the RPL, Navas quotes the words “Championship”.

Earlier, the International Football Federation (FIFA) allowed foreign players to suspend contracts with clubs until the summer of 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.

Rubin finished 15th in the RPL standings last season and were relegated to MELBET First League.
