Mourinho was never special to me – ex-Chelsea player

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink shared his opinion about Jose Mourinho, under whose leadership the player played at the London club.

“I have no doubt that Mourinho said that I am a difficult guy, difficult to work with and all that. But that was not the case at all. They then signed Drogba, I could play with him. Talked to Mourinho about it, he said: “Yes, I made a mistake.” I don’t care what he said. He should have left me on the team.

Mourinho is a brilliant coach in what he has done in football, but he has never been special to me,” Hasselbaink quoted the Daily Mail as saying.

Hasselbaink made 177 appearances for Chelsea. The Dutchman scored 87 goals and gave 23 assists for the club, but after the arrival of Mourinho, the footballer stopped getting into the first team and moved to Middlesbrough.
