Was it hard to win?
— I don’t know how difficult it is, rather long-awaited. Before I lost to this opponent, I wanted to take revenge. Our category is quite even, so it was not easy.
— Do you ever feel regret when you realize that in some aspects there is a difference between SAMBO and Olympic wrestling?
“I never thought about it, I just do my job.
– Did you ever think about it, even when you watched the broadcasts from Tokyo?
– I would like to speak at the Games, I will not hide it. But we still have our own tasks, to popularize our native sport. You have to give up something.
— They say that you are the captain of the Sambo-70 football team…
As long as it’s called that. Perhaps we will change the name, since many famous athletes play for us. We are a close-knit team of guys who love wrestling and want to prove that wrestlers can do anything.
— Are you going to fly to Medialiga?
– We wanted to, but it is not yet clear whether it will work. Maybe this year we will play in another tournament, gain strength and experience.
– In connection with the preparation for the Spartakiad, did you manage to watch the matches of the Media League?
– Right before the decisive fight, I watched two semi-finals. Before bedtime.
— What is more traumatic, sambo or football?
— Equivalent, I think. In SAMBO, there are more parts of the body that can be injured, more concentration is needed. And about the players, I finally understood why they fall so often. To reduce the risk of damage and not stick with bones.
– How do you feel about the humor of the KVN team “Fighters from Surgut”?
– I understand it, because I find it in this environment. If others like their jokes, that’s good. But in general, they are directed, rather, to the Caucasian, and not to the wrestling theme. It’s a little different.
On Sunday, Kazan will host the second day of the finals in sambo competitions.
