The PSG had one dream start to the 2022-2023 seasonwith victory over Nantes in the French Super Cup and then comfortably winning their first three Ligue 1 appearances: 17 goals in favor and only 3 against. However, those of Christophe Galtier fell on them first real hurdle This Sunday, 1-1 draw with a very good performance from Monacoespecially when it comes to branding and pressure.
Monaco took the lead in the 20th minute of the first half with a goal from the German Kevin Volland, taking advantage of a poor defensive response on the counter by PSG’s back three. Paris’ equalizer came only in the 68th minute, with a Neymar’s 12 step shotwhom the Chilean William Maripan He had committed an offense within the area.
PSG had many options to score more goals, including three shots in spades (Messi, Neymar and Hakimi), but it was far from the level of previous games and lost a suspended Bithynia due to accumulation of yellow cards (bad play in his place by Renato Sanchez).
Beyond Neymar’s goal, the local forwards didn’t have a good night eitherespecially with a Kylian Mbappe that he failed in enough clear situations to mark his former club again.
