Real Madrid beat Espanyol
Espanyol could not keep an acceptable score in the match against Real Madrid in the third round of the championship of Spain. The meeting took place on the field of the Catalan club and ended with the score 1:3.
Madrid took the lead in the 12th minute after a goal from Vinicius Junior. At the end of the first half, the Catalan club bounced back – Joselu scored.
Karim Benzema scored the winner in the 88th minute. The Catalans ended the game in the minority after their goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte received a direct red card for being rude. Already in stoppage time, Benzema sent the third ball into the opponent’s goal.
Real Madrid won the third victory in a row at the start of the season and tops the standings. Espanyol are in 16th place.
