The head coach of the Russian national team and Rostov, Valery Karpin, commented on the statements of State Duma deputy Roman Teryushkov about the possible transfer of midfielder Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo to Chelsea.
Earlier it was reported that the Blue and White received an offer from Chelsea to transfer the player. The Londoners plan to sign a contract with the Russian until 2028, the transfer amount may be 15 million euros. The Premier League transfer window will close on September 1st. Teryushkov on the air of Match TV said that performing in England now is akin to betrayal.
– With Teryushkov and his dubious statements, everything has long been clear. A very strange position. For any adequate person, his words will cause bewilderment. Are all our athletes who are already in other countries also traitors? If Zakharyan has the opportunity to play in such a solid championship, especially at such a young age, he needs to leave, ”RBC Sport quotes Karpin.
