Abascal did not change Spartak’s game scheme, Dobrovolsky is convinced
Former Dynamo midfielder Igor Dobrovolsky believes that the contribution of the new Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal to changing the playing pattern is overestimated by journalists.
In the off-season, Abascal took over the team after the departure of Paolo Vanoli, in which the team finished in 10th place in the RPL last season, but took the Russian Cup.
– Spartak has a backbone – 8-9 people from last year, 6-7 – from the year before last. It is normal for one or two players to be added to the roster every year. Is Spartak changing stylistically? Journalists like to talk: a new coach has come, he has changed tactics. I don’t see it from the outside.
Have you started to play more short passes and control the ball? I don’t see much difference, – quotes the words of Dobrovolsky “Championship”.
This season, Spartak, having scored 16 points, takes 2nd place in the WORLD RPL table behind Zenit.
