“We created but didn’t score from killer positions.” CSKA head coach Fedotov about the cup match with Torpedo

The head coach of CSKA Moscow Vladimir Fedotov believes that his players created a sufficient number of scoring chances in the first round match of the FONBET Cup of Russia against the capital’s Torpedo, but did not convert many of them.

On Wednesday, CSKA beat Torpedo 2-0 in Moscow.

– It turned out to be a real cup match with a lot of martial arts, no one wanted to concede. In the first half, we had the initiative, scored, created chances, but the execution let us down. In the first half of the meeting, with the exception of one moment in the 45th minute, they controlled the course of the game.

And the beginning of the second half before the goal was scored was under our control. We created, but did not score from lethal positions. The score 2:0, again, served as the starting point when we began to let the opponent create their half-moments, and Torpedo had the opportunity to score. The ending passed in a more or less calm atmosphere. We were looking for chances to increase the score, but there was not enough accuracy in the final blows, – the CSKA press service quoted Fedotov as saying.

CSKA will host Ural Yekaterinburg in the next round of the group stage of the Russian Cup. The meeting will take place on 14 September.

Zhurova believes that PSG has no problems with Safonov and Zabarny

French team Paris Saint-Germain shouldn’t have any problems as the Russians play on the same team Matveya Safonov and Ukrainian Ilya Zabarny. This opinion was expressed by the Olympic speed skating champion, deputy of the State Duma Svetlana Zhurova.

Previously, Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvey Bedny he called on the French club to resolve the situation, which, in his opinion, is inconvenient.

“All soccer players are professionals,” Zhurova said. “In my opinion, this situation is inconvenient only for Ukrainian officials, who constantly try to add fuel to the fire PSGnor did the players themselves express any complaints or report any discomfort. Accordingly, there is nothing to fix here. The club itself knows how to do better.”

Zabarny moved to PSG last summer. Safonov has been playing for the Parisians since last season.
