Neuer can be absent for up to six weeks
Manuel Neuer could be out for up to six weeks as the 35-year-old goalkeeper underwent knee surgery on Sunday (February 6).
In the 3-2 win against Leipzig on Saturday (January 5), Bayern had Manuel Neuer under control. However, the Bayern goalkeeper was in pain and went to the operating room for knee surgery on Sunday (6.1.).
According to Sky Sport Germany, Neuer had a problem in the meniscus for a long time, but after the game against the Bulls the pain came back. Therefore, it was decided that drastic solutions were needed.
According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, Neuer will be out for 3-4 weeks in a positive scenario and will return in early March. However, there is also the negative scenario, which says that the German goalkeeper will be out for up to six weeks.
Manuel Neuer, who is in talks about a contract extension, has played 28 games in all competitions this year and kept his home intact in 11 games.
