Mainz – Dortmund postponed because of 19 cases at the home side
Mainz reported 19 coronavirus cases (13 in footballers) and the game against Dortmund scheduled for Sunday (March 6th) will take place on March 16th.
The corona virus continues to plague Europe and all sport. On Thursday (March 3) Mainz reported 19 cases of COVID-19. According to the team’s coach, Christian Heidel, 13 footballers were infected and only 14 were available.
The organizer announced that the game against Dortmund scheduled for Sunday (March 6) has been postponed and will take place on Wednesday, March 16.
According to DFL rules, 16 players play a game, nine of which are licensed and include a goalkeeper. Penalties and injuries are considered present. It is the first Bundesliga game this season to be postponed due to a corona virus.
